This image of the Lions Gate bridge with Grouse Mountain in the background touched a place deep in my heart as my home town is the beautiful city of Vancouver. I grew up in east Vancouver and from my second floor bedroom I had a stunning view of Grouse Mountain. As a child, I remember being excited to see the first new snowfall on Grouse, seems that would usually mean fun ahead!
Driving over the Lions Gate Bridge from Stanley Park was always a very nervous drive for me when I was young and new at driving…it always seemed a bit too narrow for my liking!
Anyway, when my niece showed me this photo she had taken of Lions Gate Bridge, I just had to paint it! Something different but brings back a mountain of memories for me!
