Rise and shine

This spot was a place to camp we discovered in the hills near Sedona, Arizona. We wanted to be away from the crowds and be out where we could take in the views and, specifically, to be able to see the sun touch the hills in the evening and, as captured here, in the early morning. Looking at this painting, I am transported instantly to that morning when I set out (earlier than normal for me) so that I could capture in paint a magical moment in time.
