On the last leg of our Cross Canada Journey, we camped in the town of Fernie for a couple of nights. I had never been to Fernie, as was true of 95% of our journey.  We enjoyed a bike ride around the area, checked out a few galleries and got a great feeling from this little gem of a town. Woke up on departure day to a beautiful, sunny but cool, crisp day and we were on our way. The visit was short but sweet! West from Fernie was a scenic drive and when I saw that tree and field, I exclaimed "pullover!" to Robert. I had to take photos of this for sure!  The image obviously spoke to me then and, now, gazing at the finished painting it still resonates and brings back such great memories.  I am so happy I decided to paint it!
